Here We Grow…

On Thursday, July 11, 2019, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (LWRMC) hosted a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting in honor of the completion of the $28.5 million expansion project. The event included a reception and ribbon cutting ceremony with the Manatee Chamber of Commerce, Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance. Following the ribbon cutting, guests were invited to tour the newly renovated and expanded service lines.

The expansion project broke ground in early 2018 and included adding new space and redesigning existing space to provide:

Two new operating rooms
Shell space for two more operating rooms
An additional heart catheterization lab
A new advanced MRI system
An additional technologically advanced CT scanner
An expanded and enhanced surgical waiting area, preoperative space and post-surgical space
A new location for the Breast Health Center
New administrative office space

Manatee Healthcare System Group Vice President and Manatee Memorial Hospital CEO, Kevin DiLallo, stated, “We are excited to bring this level of advanced medical technology to the community within the OR, cath lab and imaging services. September 1, 2019, marks the 15th anniversary for Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and I am proud of the growth within the hospital and local community. Growth means improving services for our patients in their own local communities — this is the heart of our mission.”

CEO of LWRMC, Andy Guz, added, “The hospital’s new MRI, surgical services and many other upgrades are equipping doctors and providers with the tools they need to provide a higher level of care to our community. Technology is an important component of this growth; from innovative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to robotic-assisted surgery and advanced 3D mammogram screening, efforts are continually underway to improve the patient experience.”
