Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Earns Accreditation in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography
The Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (LWRMC) Cardiovascular Services Department has been granted a three-year term of accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography. Echocardiography is used to assess different areas of the heart and can detect heart disease or signs of serious cardiovascular conditions.
The accreditation was achieved after the department underwent an intensive application and review process and was found to be in compliance with the published standards, demonstrating a commitment to quality patient care in echocardiography. The accreditation process assesses both the critical operational and technical components of the facility including representative case studies and their corresponding final reports.
“I am extremely proud of the dedication and commitment of our cardiologists and cardiovascular team, which has resulted in this designation,” says Andy Guz, LWRMC Chief Executive Officer. “Our patients can feel confident they are receiving the highest level of patient care and quality in cardiac imaging and testing.”
