Welcome to the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program. We are embarking on a journey to bring graduate medical education to our hospital and our surrounding community. As the Designated Institutional Official and in collaboration with the hospital leadership of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, the Sponsoring Institution, we will ensure that our residency and fellowship programs meet and exceed all the standards and regulatory requirements of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and each Residency Review Committee (RRC).
Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is an award-winning, Joint Commission (JCAHO) accredited acute care hospital that consistently meets or exceeds all CMS standards in terms of quality, patient safety and patient satisfaction. Following this standard of excellence, our GME programs will provide an organized clinical educational program for each of our residents and fellows. This will include direct patient care, didactic instruction, wellness programs, research opportunities and participation in hospital and community committees. Our goal is to ensure that our residents and fellows are prepared to excel in their future careers by equipping them with the skills to provide professional and ethical high-quality patient-centered care, exceptional problem-solving skills, an attitude of lifelong learning and an understanding of their responsibility as leaders in the community driven by an attitude of giving and a commitment to service.
