Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Foundation Awards Nursing Scholarships
The Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Foundation (LWRMCF) awarded eight $2,000 scholarships recently at a luncheon at Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club. The scholarship recipients are students who are in college nursing programs at the undergraduate or graduate level and are affiliated with Lakewood Ranch Medical Center.
The Foundation’s scholarship program has been in existence for six years and is designed to encourage and inspire nursing staff to continue their education with advanced degrees.

The Foundation’s mission is to help ensure we have a well-trained healthcare workforce which can be accomplished through advanced education. “Our goal is to ensure that our region has the best trained healthcare workforce possible,” says Carole Cowan, President of the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Foundation. “We recognize advanced nursing education not only enhances patient care but also fosters professional growth.”
Funds for the scholarships come from primarily The Jingle 5K and friends of the Foundation who donate money for named scholarships.
