Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (LWRMC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Robbert (Rob) Anderson, MBA, to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective today. In this role, Anderson is responsible to lead the team in advancing the hospital’s commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services to the Lakewood Ranch community and beyond. We thank interim CEO Philip Reber for his dedicated service and leadership during this period. Reber will remain as Chief Operating Officer (COO) reporting to Anderson.
Anderson brings over 25 years of dynamic healthcare leadership experience and joins LWRMC from Tenet Healthcare where he served as CEO of Memorial Campus and Providence Children’s Hospital, a 480-bed acute care hospital located in El Paso, Texas, that specializes in women’s health, orthopedics, oncology, cardiovascular, neurosciences and general surgery; and Providence Children’s Hospital, a 144-bed pediatric facility with a pediatric NICU, pediatric oncology and surgical services. Prior to that, Anderson served as CEO for Tenet’s Sierra Campus and Specialty Campus, a 297-bed acute care hospital specializing in cardiovascular services, neurosciences and orthopedic services. Previously, he served as Market Chief Strategy Officer for The Hospitals of Providence Market, and as Administrator/COO of Providence Children’s Hospital.
Anderson’s strategic vision and outstanding leadership skills will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency, enhancing patient care and fostering collaborative relationships with the medical staff and employees. “We are looking forward to having Rob join the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center leadership team,” says Ryan Chandler, Regional VP, Acute Care Division, Universal Health Services. “Rob’s extensive professional experience in healthcare, dedication to healthcare excellence and strategic planning make him an ideal fit for our organization. Anderson is a member of several professional healthcare organizations in Texas including the Texas Christian University Alumni Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the Texas Hospital Association and the Medical Group Management Association, among others.
Anderson earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas Dallas, and his Bachelor of Science in Business from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.
