Nursing Scholarship Recipients Named by Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Foundation
A Lakewood Ranch community Christmas tradition continues to spread cheer in the spring as 10 nursing students were awarded college scholarships, thanks to the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Foundation (LWRMCF) and the Jingle 5K Run/Walk.
These select students will each receive a $2,000 scholarship from proceeds raised by the race.
Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Foundation President, Carole Cowan says, “Hosting the Jingle 5KRun/Walk each December is a festive and fun way to kick off the holiday season while raising funds for LWRMCF’s Nursing Scholarship Program.”
The Scholarship program is entering its fifth year. It was established in 2019 to provide scholarships to students in college nursing programs at the undergraduate or graduate level who are affiliated with Lakewood Ranch Medical Center.
Chief Nursing Officer Judy Young says, “We’re so grateful for the support of the Foundation. These scholarships provide a great opportunity to demonstrate to our nurses and future nurses that we support and encourage them.”
